When you’re racing or sprinting your car with a Rover Engine and PG1 gearbox you may have already experience one significant weakness of the clutch release bearing design: they melt!
Quite a few people who raced their car got stuck and thought their clutch was gone. Upon removing the gearbox from the engine it turned out it wasn’t the clutch which was gone, but the clutch release bearing melted away and caused havoc in the bell house.
To overcome this problem, we’ve created our own elise-shop.com release bearing which is fully made from metal (except for the part which moves over the axle).
We’ve teamed up with SKF for a high quality bearing, so what we have here is a clutch release bearing which is designed to last at least as long as the clutch lifetime.
Another headache gone!
